Benjamin Kopetsky
Fall Semester HIE (confirmed) | First-Year Seminar |
What will you do in this experience? | I will begin my college experience. This class will really help me gain perspective on what college will be like and it will also help me start making connections and learn about resources UWGB has on campus. |
How will it benefit your purposeful, exploration, person, professional and/or civic growth? | My first-year seminar helped me to learn about UWGB as a whole and where I can feel like I fit into it. Through the class I also did some soul searching for what makes me feel like I’m at home. I then apply it to my life and feel better about wherever I am. It also helped me learn about becoming more professional whether it’s sending emails or anything else. |
Planned Spring Semester HIE | GPS Service Project |
What will you do in the experience? | In this experience, my class and I will create some sort of project that will help people in the long run/ make a lasting difference or at least help them for more than a short time. |
What are the requirements/prerequisites? What is your plan to gain access? | The prerequisite is that I am in our GPS class and we decide on and execute the service project. I must also do my part to ensure that everything goes smoothly, and work gets done. |
How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/ or civic growth? | I think this will really help me become more professional and give me a better idea of civic duty and what I can do to help a community. It will also give me ideas of what other volunteer work or a career I might want to do in the future. |
Possible Spring Semester First Year HIE: | Volunteer Work (Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity Restore Seeking Volunteers) |
What will you do in the experience? | I would be volunteering at ReStore on the weekends in order to help them with whatever they may need help with. |
What are the requirements/prerequisites? What is the plan to gain access? | ReStore does not have many requirements for volunteering. Volunteers do have to sign up to volunteer as well as attend an informational meeting before being able to volunteer. |
How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/ or civic growth? | I think this will really help me feel like I’m doing something purposeful for people. It is a good cause and the experience I get from doing it will likely help me grow professionally. |
Year Two
PLANNED Fall Semester Second Year HIE: | Internship: Marketing/Ticket Sales Intern at Green Bay Bullfrogs Baseball Club
(This internship and the spring internship will probably change by next year, but these seem interesting to me now and if I were to want to apply for an internship this semester/year I would do these ones) |
What will you do in the experience? | I would be partly in charge of marketing and ticketing responsibilities of the Green Bay area. It also gives a list of things I would do as seen below
● Help create new and fun on-field promotions ● Assist in attending mascot and player appearances in the community ● Help deliver marketing material in the community ● Help manage all social media outlets ● Sales tasks will include assisting on calling potential ticket buyers, answering incoming phone calls, placing ticket orders, and delivering tickets to clients. |
What are the requirements/prerequisites? What is your plan to gain access? | They use three simple bullet points to give requirements of their interns
● Creative mind set with the ability to think quickly ● Excellent communication skills ● Upbeat and fun personality
To gain access I should create a cover letter and fix up my resume and send it in to apply. |
How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/ or civic growth? | This would be a good way for me to learn about marketing hands on. It would provide me with experience that will help me when I look to get other employment opportunities in the future. This will also be a challenge which will help me grow personally. In all I think this would help me explore what I really like about marketing or what I don’t like, it will help me learn to adapt and overcome, and it will help me be professional in a business setting. |

It may also give me insight into what I want to do with my life. This job could also lead to references, friendships, and new opportunities in the future. |

How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/ or civic growth? | This internship will give me experience in marketing which will help me professionally once I try to get a job after college. This internship may also show me if marketing is not a good choice for me which would help me grow personally and lead me to explore more options in life. |
POSSIBLE Spring Semester Second Year HIE: | Study Abroad: |

What are the requirements/prerequisites? What is your plan to gain access? | I should ensure that the courses I take while abroad will be beneficial to my major/minor. I would also have to meet with academic advisors and complete the Academic Advising Agreement. There is also an orientation and sign up process to go through. Other assessments may also follow. I would also need a passport. |
How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/ or civic growth? | This would help me explore myself. Having the ability to compare the culture I come from with another culture is eye-opening (or so I’ve heard). I imagine that it would help me become more respectful of peoples’ cultures. I would then grow as a person and while I’m there I may also learn about some things I want to do with my life. |
