NACE Skills Reflection
| WorkEthic | Business 202 | This class showed me right away I have to work hard and be on top of all the homework I’m given. Also, I have to have a good work ethic when it comes to testing because the test are harder in this class. At the being of the year, I made a study plan for this class because I had so many assignments from this class. As while with all the test we that are given in that class. So, I reached out to people in the class and made a study group. I found two other people that I meet up with after class to work on assignments. This helps my work ethic because other people rely on me to help |
| Written Communications | English Comp 100 | This skill probably needs the most work coming out of high school because I had a tough time writing. So now I take English very seriously. My first essay was the worst for me just because it was my first essay since high school to, and I was nervous. But after looking at the grade, I got it boosted my confidence. So, then I teamed up with some of the same people I have in business because they’re in my English class as well. So, we all work together on our essays. |
| Teamwork | Hum Bio 102 | I have to use teamwork for this class because I joined a study group. For this reason, I decided to become a leader of the group. No one for the first couple of study sessions wanted to become a leader, so I took over and guided the group on what to study for the day. Another reason I became a leader of the group is that no one took it seriously on studying human bio. So I made worksheets and other quiz’s for the group to go over in the group. This helps me to build leadership skills and how to guide a group of people that aren’t staying on topic. |
| Critical Thinking | English 105 | I have to use critical thinking in English 105 because the paper I am writing uses critical thinking. Critical thinking for me happens all the time in the class because my teacher as me and the whole class to look deeper into the question he asks as well to past the problem itself. Also, in the paper, we have to write what my teacher wants us to think about our paper critically because he wants us to put pride in our work. As critical thinking has helped me work through severe problems in the class by just thinking hard and writing down the problem helps me critically think. Critical thinking also helped me in this class by just taking a step back and honestly think about the questions. This helps me because it lets me truly look at the problems. As well it helps me when it comes to answering questions in class because I wait a second then answer the question for the teacher and have a better answer, than just saying the first thing I say. Finally, critical thinking has helped me multiple times this semester and will help me in the future. |
| Intercultural Fluency | History 220 | This class gives me a better insight into the real problem that is happening in the environment. What I learned in this class has helped me understand the amount of pollution that is being most real into the environment. I also value this class because I had no idea how much humans pollute. As well it thought me to respect the people that fight for the rights of nature. The openness I brought into this class has helped me understand the true nature of this subject. After having this class, I feel his course has opened me up to more cultural openness. Also, the respect that I have for my teacher showing me how to help support these individuals is incredible. Finally, have intercultural fluency is great because it helps me understand peoples opinion better. |
