My First high impact experience in college was my GPS First Year seminar. It was Politics in sports for my first semester. It will provide me with insight on how college classes will run and what professors expect from you and it just helps you transition into college life. This will benefit me because it will let me try out the waters of college, also it will help me adjust to college classes because they are different than many high school classes. For my spring semester first year experience, it will be a service-learning project in the community for my Comm Sci class. This provides me with insight in what happens in Green Bay and where to go for a fun time with friends. This will benefit me by showing me more of the Green Bay community and showing me how I can get more involved in my city and how I can help and contribute to it. My fall high impact experience for my second year will probably be a Collaborative project for Computer Science. It will consist of a couple of Comp Sci majors and we will be working on a coding project which we will decide on when we meet, and it could range from anything from creating a interactive video game from anything multimedia to websites. It will benefit all of us because we will be able to bounce ideas off each other and we can also all learn from each other if we don’t know how to do a certain thing, but a group member does, and they can teach the rest of us. It would be a great opportunity to get together with other people with the same majors and explore our field of research more and just branch out and see what we like to work on. For my spring semester high impact experience second year I will try to intern at flexagon for a semester and it would be a paid internship. This would be very beneficial to me because it would give me real world experience and show me what I could do with my degree. It would let me use some of my skills in the workplace and I could get a feel on how a job would go in my field. This would look amazing on my resume and would help me in future comp sci classes here on campus.
