Fall Semester First Year: First Year Seminar
1) What will you do in the experience?
Learn about equality and justice, and breakdown the struggle to get there.
2) How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/or civic growth?
So far learning in Power to the People has really opened my eyes to what was gone through to even get as far as we have now, yes, there is still much we need to get done. But it is amazing to see how far we have come.
Spring Semester First Year: Service Project
1) What will you do in the experience?
As a class we will decide on a project that will help others outside of the classroom. This ranges from many different public outreach options.
2) How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/or civic growth?
Whatever our service project is, I believe it will be very beneficial personally but mostly civically and it will be a great chance to help where it is needed. I am very interested to see what the class decides on.
POSSIBLE Spring Semester First Year: History of Art: Renaissance to Modern
1) What are the requirements/prerequisites? What is your plan to gain access?
Taking History of Art: Prehistoric to Renaissance.
2) What will you do in the experience?
I will continue learning about subject in the field I would like to be in.
3) How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/or civic growth?
Being in History of Art: Renaissance to Modern will benefit my professional growth.
Fall Semester Second Year: Volunteering at shelters or the Sexual Assault Center
1)What are the requirements/prerequisites?
Going in and getting training with the facility.
2) What will you do in the experience?
Help others with their experiences and finding the right path for them for healing.
3) How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/or civic growth?
Professional and personally, getting these gen eds out of the way, will make it easier to focus on getting my major decided on.
POSSIBLE Fall Semester Second Year:
1) What are the requirements/prerequisites? What is your plan to gain access?
Taking the Art prerequisites that are recommended but not required.
2) What will you do in the experience?
Test the waters to see if this is truly the major I would like to continue with.
3) How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/or civic growth?
I believe taking more Art classes will benefit me both personally and professionally. It is helping me decide if 1: I want to make a career out of it and 2: If i have the “stuff” to make it professionally.
Spring Semester Second Year: Studying Abroad.
1) What are the requirements/prerequisites? What is your plan to gain access?
Speak with academic advisors and get help on the best possible pairings of the major I pick and a minor to go along with it..
2) What will you do in the experience?
Get a good idea on a potential minor and in turn a future career.
3) How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/or civic growth?
Getting information on a minor would really help professionally on molding and shaping my major to my exact needs and liking.
POSSIBLE Spring Semester Second Year: Choosing a minor.
1) What are the requirements/prerequisites? What is your plan to gain access?
After researching what would the best option be personally to give my personal touch on my major I would then decide what the best option would be.
2) What will you do in the experience?
Declare officially, my major and minor
3) How will it benefit your purposeful exploration, personal, professional and/or civic growth?
Declaring a major and minor is both personally and professionally beneficial to my exploration. Having a clear rundown of what I will hopefully be doing is a lot of weight lifted off my shoulders.
