This semester has opened my eyes about college. It has showed me what it is like to live on my own and be successful. A lot of different things have happened since the start of the school year. I have become very close with my roommate, Abby and made many new friends. I think that I have also come closer to my boyfriend, Max, he has just helped me so much this semester with everything and I am very thankful.
I have learned a lot over this semester in the different classes that I have taken and grown a lot as a person from being here at college and or UWGB. I have learned that procrastination is terrible and if you do procrastinate you will struggle a lot in classes, I learned that very quickly and stopped doing it. I also grew to be a more responsible person that way because I learned to get things done when I am supposed to and when I can, have good time management. I have also grown in other ways as well. I have grown more independent and feel comfortable being on my own without my family here to help me with everything.
I also learned that I took on a lot at the start of the year. I was taking 16 credits here at UWGB, working at a difficult job off campus every week day and then on a recreational volleyball team here at UWGB. I was doing all of this while trying to do homework, get involved on campus, study, sleep, eat and have a little fun. I ended up quitting my job partly because my car broke down and partly because it was a lot to handle. I worked with autistic kids and it was a very fun job, but I worked a lot. I would go to class every day and then I would work until either 7 or 8 at night every day. Then I would go home and do homework, eat and then sleep. I had no time to do fun things and do assignments to the best of my ability, but after I quit my job, I felt so much better. I have applied to work on campus next semester because it will be easier not to drive anywhere for a job and they adjust very well to your schedule. This way I can still be making money but doing what I should be doing for school and having more fun. I have also applied to be a RA next year, I hope I get the job and know it will be a lot of fun if I do.
As I have said I will hopefully be getting a job at the union next semester, I am looking forward to that. I am also looking forward to meeting new people in my classes and having a new week. I like change in my life, and it will be fun to have all new classes next semester and to learn about new things. I will hopefully make new friends next semester in my classes and connections with the professors as well. It will be fun to have different things going on next semester.
This semester has been great. I have enjoyed being with my roommate Abby as I have said before. I could not have gotten through this semester without her and I am thankful to have such a good friend like her in my life. I was really worried about coming here and not making any close friends, but I can say that I am not worried about that at all anymore. Abby and I have some classes next semester together and I am excited to still have classes with her other than the 21st Century Citizen class. I have also enjoyed having my boyfriend Max here at school with me to help me adjust and be there for me. He has been very helpful with my school work and when I get stressed out to help me through it.
I think this semester has made me grow a lot as a person. It showed me who I can be by myself and how it is to be an adult. I have been able to become more independent as I have said, and I am thankful for that. I am happy that I had such a great semester here at UWGB and I am excited for my second semester even though it was not all easy, I would not have wanted to be anywhere else but here for my college career.
